Research interests: I do qualitative and quantitative protein analysis using liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC-MS). A lot of the analysis work is on host cell proteins (HCPs). HCPs are residual host cell proteins and might pose detrimental effects. Therefore, they need to be tightly controlled. Traditionally, HCPs are analyzed with ELISA, which provides information on HCPs as a population. As an orthogonal approach to ELISA, LC-MS can provide identification and quantification information on each individual HCP. Depending on the research goals, I do discover proteomics to get qualitative protein information and SWATH, MRM or PRM to get quantitative protein information.
